I hear all these campaigns urging me to drink responsibly, which makes me wonder... what exactly defines responsible drinking?

Don't drink and drive. Don't become an alcoholic. Don't drink so much that you need your stomach pumped or something stupid to that effect.

As far as I can tell: watch your drink so it doesnt get spiked, dont drink so much you put yourself in dabger, either from yourself or other people, dont drink a lot, or too often, as it will damage your insides.

First of all, have a mediterranean attitude. For them, a drink is taken with a meal and with friends. It is not the centre of all activities, but just one part of the atmosphere. Because of this attitude, Mediterraneans rarely get drunk, and, indeed, pace their drinks over a long drawn out meal with lots of talking and joking. Responsibility comes from an attitude like this.
