  • no I have an optical mouse and it doesn't require a mouse pad.
  • No they're not, but I found that I scratched the veneer on my desk when I didn't use one.
  • I have had issues with some mousepads because of the reflective properties, I dont think you need one, but if you use it on a glossy surface you may have issues...
  • No I've begun to go without recently. I may need to adjust mines sensitivity, or it may just be too cheap, but since I started to go "Commando" I've noticed a slight improvement.

Not cheap! 2) I switched some time ago to optical mouses wherever I could and I am not using any mousepad. But some kind of mouses and some kind of surfaces can make problems. Some time ago, I had an optical mouse that I could not use on my desk because of the reflexions, so I used it on a piece of cardboard.
  • I dont find that i need a mousepad. The reflection can sometimes mess with the movement and confuse it!
  • i use a pad with mine just because it has a built in gel wrist support.
