  • No they are not the same. Liability only covers damage to the vehicle you hit in an accident. Comprehensive covers damage to your vehicle from something other than an accident such as a broken windshield from a rock of if you hit a pole.

  • Comprehensive Insurance is to cover your car in case Stolen, vandalism, fire, flood, windshields everything is not an accident or hitting something or some one. One tip on it. the higher your deductible is on Comp. the cheaper your monthly premium would be.
  • Here's the real definition guys: Comprehensive: Vandalism, storm, hail, rocks, animal hits, theft. Collision: Anything ELSE... your car gets hit by another car, you hit a stationary object, you hit another car, you hit a pedestrian etc. Comp is ONLY relating to uncontrollable losses usually relating to vandalism and weather conditions. Collision has nothing to do with who's responsible.
