  • Not unless its with someone else. If your doing it by your self with no other cars around your just checking your speed or blowing the dust our of the exhaust, lol. But if there is another car beside you then yes your racing, busted give it up.
  • I would think you need another car to race against...
  • I would think it was not drag racing but simple speeding because there is only one car involved. Though if you were going to get a ticket for it, there WOULD be two cars present, though they could get you by plane and other means.
  • Yes. running your vehicles engine wide open, to obtain its highest speed possible, is drag racing. being alone on the interstate, makes no difference. In some states, it may be considered reckless driving.
  • Yes, and alot of fun too!
  • Well. In most states you can still get picked up for drag racing all by yourself because....even though there is not another car present....you are still racing against the clock. So. Basically all they claim is that you are trying to do a time trial with your car. That is what they said! So yeah. Technically...they are right but not exactly what most people would consider drag racing. But who is to argue...?
  • No, it's not drag racing. When you get pulled over, it will be for "exhibition of speed and reckless driving ... minimum."
  • Yes. in Tennessee. Attempting to achieve the highest speed possible is considered reckless driving and or drag racing. Just because the speedometer has 130 on it, does not mean you have the right to violate the law. Since most vehicles will not go that fast, its just a selling gimmick.
  • No in north carolina it would be speeding drag racing is what my dad used to do when there are 2 cars involved
  • That depends on the jurisdiction.
  • whatever it is, it's purely illegal. If you want to test top speed just buy a stretch of land, pave it and test it.
  • It's not drag racing. Of course, if you make the claim, to the arresting officer, that you were racing a UFO, then you may have a good insanity defense. Just a thought. High speed runs are best made late at night, when the gendarmes are tucked in bed, along with almost everyone else.
