What would be the point? Castration is the removal of one or both testes, they still have a penis.

You mean castrate the boy whose 17 year old girl friend gives him head for his birthday? That's an actual case in Florida. the boy is now on the list of Sexual Offenders--for life. We need to be more sensible when dealing with sex. Why is it so hard for Americans to grow up?

In some states women might not be able to be charged with rape because they are not part of the definition. This means if a female minor rapes a man he just might get prosecuted as a rapist. After that he might also get castrated under your system. This would be a really ugly case of beaucracy by yourself.

What good would it do? Castration would not get rid of the urge to offend. And besides, many would argue that such a punishment would be cruel and unusual, which is prohibited by the Constitution.

Mainly two reasons: 1. physical castration does not necessarily deter a man from continuing to re-offend--it is largely a conditioned act and one that involves the brain, not testicles. 2. physical castration is barbaric in a civilized society. Women can be found guilty of sexual offenses such as rape too (although uncommon)--do we mandatorily remove their ovaries? We cannot legislate a law that discriminates. Would you like to see all men who abuse women and children castrated? Why?

There are so many crimes that "earn" you the title of Sex Offender. Among them is public urination (in some places). Yes, pulling over and peeing in the ditch can make you a sex offender. So lumping all SO's together, and saying they should be castrated is a bit ridiculous.
