I don't know about carrots to be honest :-) But a healty diet, fruit and veg will help lots. Cut out the sweet stuff, have an apple. Good for you in so many ways not just for your skin.

Generally a heal;thy diet will help your body fight back against any infection. But acne is essentially a skin infection, and the best defence against acne is frequent washing with good quality soap.

Carrots contain beta carotene, vitamin A, which is essential to healthy skin. I tried increasing my carrot intake as a teen. It just made me get an orange hue to my skin! Then I tried fish oil capsules, also full of vitamin A. I smelled funny and still had acne. It may sound weird, but what helped the most was making sure my bowels were healthy and regular. Fermenting feces make poisons and some of us are prone to having these poisons leach out through our skin as acne. My son had acne as bad as any I have ever seen. He took antibiotics for years to fight the acne. When he learned to have regular bowel movements his skin began to heal and clear up. He is now 25 and I can tell when he is irredular because his face will begin to break out.

I had a bad breakout in my late teens. I went to a chiropractor (not for that, but for an adjustment), when he saw me, he had me get vit. A, 10,000 units per pill. It cleared my face after a few days! Carrots have lots of vitamins for the skin, so any beta carotene vegatable can help, like sweet potatoes etc. or you can get vit. A, but don't take more than 25,000 units per day. It can be toxic in high, sustained doses.
