Erm, whilst I'm no expert on the subject, repeated questioning, trying to make it seem like you're doing the "right thing" by telling them the answer (e.g. Tell us where he is, you're saving lives, why wouldn't you want to do that?), applying mental and social pressures upon the person, so on so forth all strike me as being fairly logical/obvious and above-the-board ways to do it.

Mental exhaustion by asking you over and over again the same. Waking you up in the night and threatening. Giving to you a feeling that you are completely helpless.

tie suspect,s hands with rubber hosing gently behind back(so as to leave no marks)taking firm grip on back of his head push head into bath filled with water,suspect will have a renewed bout of energy and as this calms down lift his head out of bathtub,ask question/questions and repeat step one until suspect co-operates.no marks no beatings.remember this is only one way out of many.regards

The use of White Noise, sleep deprivation, threatening with longer time in jail, repeatedly asking the same question over and over again. Making it like his/her partner in crime cheated on him, or confessed already.
