  • When I was probably 10 or 11, my sister came over for my birthday (she's 11 years older than me) and tossed my gift on the table - a bottle of musk (popular at the time) wrapped in a paper towel. For years I would think of that and get depressed thinking she didn't put any thought into my birthday and didn't care. I even brought it up in therapy sessions! Some 20 years later I told her about it and we laughed and laughed. Turns out, she thought it was pretty ingenious to use paper towel to wrap my gift! (My kids gave her a Christmas gift a few years ago wrapped in toilet paper!)
  • I let them know what they did and how it made me feel. Its not good to harbor those feelings for years. Think about it you could be putting a relationship/friendship off. Just because of that thing they did not mean to do and can never fix it because you don't tell them.
  • Yes and it still bothers me...not all the time but when it crops up I fell bad all over again.
