Well i truly think it's a person by person thing. I know many men who prefer short sassy & stylish. BUT for those who do gravitate towards long flowing locks, i suppose its fun to play with and gives a softer look.

yes, why do they? I had a bf once talk me into cutting off my waist length hair and then dump me when i did it! now that its grown back you wont catch me cutting it ever again!

Maybe they take primal comfort in seeing as many feminine identifying features on their partner as possible. The bigger the boobs, the longer the hair, and the slimmer the waist, the less likely that used to be a guy. :p
