If you're reading along and like the way someone answers questions - click on their name and at the top left, click to add them as a friend. After you're friends, you can see their Q&A and its easier to find and rate their responses.

I suppose receiving a friends-list invitation could be considered a sort of compliment ("I like you, or I like your postings, etc.") Having someone on your friend's list makes it somewhat easier to locate their profile (if you don't have your browser favorites set up for that). It also means you'll see their activity on the friend's activity page. But really, I think it's mostly of value for people who are new to the site, or who have a very limited friends list. Once you get about 10-20 friends on that list or more, it's nearly useless in terms of functional value, because the light is on all the time! It would be useful if you could individually select the users you want to monitor, independent of whether or not they're "friends". I don't find that people have any particular expectations just because they're on my friends list. It's not like I'm getting a lot of "hey, we're friends now, would you like to go out for ice cream?" comments.

You're going to get so many friends out of this question! You have to either press "add someone as friends" in their profile and wait for them to accept or accept a request. I'm requesting you now, hold on. We are friends! =D

You just go to a user's profile, and on the left, will see table with the heading profile. Beside it will be the button Add to friends. Click it and wait until that user accepts your request. http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/385587

You ask them to be your friends by clicking on the add friends button. When they agree to be your friend, you will receive notification of their activities here on ab.

Ooh oohhhh I want friends!

I'd have to say the same reasons that are good to have friends in the non-digital world. It may be different on some respects but in the ones that matter the reasons are the same. To share thoughts, hurt, joy, love, pain, elation, good news, bad news, humor, to learn from, to teach, to argue, to make up, to enjoy, to appreciate, to be everything a friend can be. As with all there will be surprises, and disappointments, but the joy of finding good friends at AB or in any aspect of life is sure as hell worth the speed bumps along the way.

Points, support, hugs, understanding, and love .. Just to name a few.

They are always there for support when I need them, they supports me even though they don't like what I am doing or saying. They make me laugh and cry, I can relax and be myself with without having to watch what I say or do. They share good times and the bad, they listen to me, console and comfort me are honest without being cruel, supportive without being smothering, and will accept me for who I ma not who you think I should be.

Support and good laughs.

people add me. i accept. Thats it, lol.

The only reason to add a friend is because you like their questions or answers. It makes it easy to quickly look through them.
