I occasionally do. I have a standing order on the card to make a low-to-medium payment so that I am never caught with missed payment fees, and sometimes this overpays. Also, if I know a big charge is in the pipeline, and I have the money ready for it, I will pay that in advance.

My credit card company doesn't allow that unless I pay by paper check. The last time I needed to make a purchase above my credit limit (a digital SLR camera), I spent a long time on the phone to figure out what the best route would be. I ended up increasing my credit limit to a 5-figure number. I don't have THAT problem anymore. :) I still pay my bill off in full and on time every month, and never carry a balance. If I don't have the money to make the purchase, I don't buy. I *hate* carrying cash around and my debit card is inactive. I have a savings account with the old-school ATM card and do my banking online with the same company. I charge EVERYTHING and love getting cash back.
