As an author, if I don't write a couple of trigger words I often forget the inspiration, so I always carry a notebook, clipboard and pen with me everywhere for this purpose.

You're not old~I'm just a teen, and I write notes to myself all the time. The only problem is remembering to look at them. It's like when people tie a string to their finger to remember something, and then look the string and think, "What the heck is that thing?"

Oh - btw - hubby sometimes will put post-it's on the back of my laptop as I'm writing, so he doesn't disturb me while I'm "out there" or "in the zone" as he calls it...when I write, I tend to block out all other sensory input and I'm literally in my own little world. The notes will say, "Went out to get milk..." or "going to work, love you! XOXO" or "Going to bed, good night - don't stay up too late." My kids are starting to do so as well...LOL!

Actually, I carry a pocket digital recorder with me where ever I go so if I get an idea while out and about I have it handy in case I get a story idea, or an idea for the next chapter, etc.

HA! I actually have began to forget a lot of things since I turned 40! I bought a dry eraser board with a magic marker and hang it on my fridge. I put down anything I do not want to forget. It works, because I see it everyday. I was a bit worried today, because I received an email from answerbag and had no clue I had even registered or asked a question! That is so annoying, but it is old age naturally.

Used to be handwritten notes only. Now I've got "to do lists" on my computer too! Have also started writing "seasonal reminders" in my calendar right along with the birthdays, appointments and such.

Liked the way you asked your question though. Nope .. not "just old". Just trying to get stuff done and keep track of the fifty billion things we all seem to have on our plates sometimes. lol Shoot, even if it's just one thing we don't want to forget? Sometimes the very ritual of "writing it down" is like a personal promise to "do it". Thanks for the question. :)

You can easily write notes by clicking on a day and put reminders to it on a calendar that fills your entire screen. It is easy and quite right for old people. Go to http://www.google.com and search for
"COMPUDIARY FREE DOWNLOAD" to list the links that will allow you to download such a software

I've always been a "make list" person, even when I was much younger. I have found as I've gotten older I rely on those lists a lot more than I used to..old age? Well, yes..the alternative is death, so I'll take old age any day of the week! :)

No it's not an age thing, don't worry. Most of my friends' kids keep a record of things they need to do in their 'to do' section in their mobile phones so young people need reminding also. I have lots of post-its in my bag ...but sometimes need a note to remind me to look in my bag! Me2write

lol, one of the things thats is taught in most law enforcement and military academies, write it down. that way, you are not relying on memory when the time comes, you have it on paper. documentation is key they say....
