John Lennon Airport. http://www.liverpooljohnlennonairport.com/
It's pretty useless though, it never flies to anywhere I need to go. So I always use Manchester. And it is my sincere hope, that one day I'll fly out of a terminal other than Terminal 3.
Apparently Terminal 1 has the best shops.
Edit: I'm sure you were all on pins waiting for updates, but I've flown out of Terminal 2 several times this year (no Terminal 1 yet!). It was shockingly uneventful.
LaGuardia
Right now that will be Bahgdad International.....next week it wont matter...;)
LAX
jfk
Des Moines International Airport (located 10-15 minutes away from my townhouse).
I am closest to John Wayne/Orange County airport (airport code SNA), but am also relatively convenient to Long Beach (LGB), Los Angeles International (LAX) and Ontario (ONT).
There's a small airport for light aircraft about a mile from my house which means I get all the low flying flight noise and none of the travelling benefits. 'Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Airport' is the nearest international airport. It's relatively new and there was a heated debate regarding its name, the airport is in Doncaster but it was decided to add 'Sheffield' to the name as it's a larger city and apparently more easily identifiable for foreigners.

Come for a holiday in Lanzarote for Terminal 2 or, less chance Terminal 1. Are you flying from Manchester when you go to the States? That would almost certainly be Terminal 1.
by Brian I on August 27th, 2007
I'd like to go to Lanzarote! I assumed I would be flying from Terminal 1 when I go to the US, but <grits teeth> it just so happens American Airlines flies from Terminal 3 (but I think the other carriers go from 1)!
It *always* happens to me, wherever I go, the flight leaves from T3.
by Carmella on August 27th, 2007
I normally come into, and leave from, Terminal 2. It's a horrendous trolley push if you get dropped off at the wrong terminal. I remember arriving there while they were doing all the improvements just before the Commonwealth Games and we had to walk miles, up and down stairs and along all sorts of corridors between the entrance door and baggage reclaim.
by Brian I on August 27th, 2007
even worse if you book your car into secure parking!! we left from john lennon airport last year to go to spain and we had to walk miles from the car to the terminal building, but i thought it was pretty nice Carmella.
by Mentalmum is back on September 13th, 2007
Yeah, the walk is a nightmare...taxis are better because they can park a bit closer, and it's only a 30 minute drive from my house.
by Carmella on September 13th, 2007
we drove down from scotland, as you know the flights are cheaper in England than Scotland, so we had to park the car in secure parking for the duration of our holiday, if i'd known i woulda visited you!! lol
by Mentalmum is back on September 13th, 2007
Really, flights are cheaper here than in Scotland? I didn't know that. But yeah, if you fly from here again you have to five me a shout, I'll come with you ;-)
by Carmella on September 13th, 2007
Oh hell yes, we're going to spain again in 2 weeks, the flights from Glasgow were costing over £500 for myself, hubby and two kids under 4. I could fly from Tees Valley same airline for under £200!! Last year the flights from Liverpool cost us £197 for all four of us. We always have to add 3 or 4 hundred pound to a package holiday here, thats why so many scots fly from Newcastle, Liverpool and Manchester.
by Mentalmum is back on September 13th, 2007
(this year i actually booked with a new Spanish Airline 'click-air' and ive got the flights from Edinburgh for two hundred odd pounds)
by Mentalmum is back on September 13th, 2007
That has nothing to do with this thread.
by Carmella on December 16th, 2007
haha!!! i was reading that kinda wondering what was going on Carmella!! lol
by Mentalmum is back on December 17th, 2007
Aye, well I think he's a spammer.
by Carmella on December 17th, 2007
where did it go???? the post has gone!
by Mentalmum is back on December 17th, 2007
When a spammer is ''found'', their account is nuked (which stops them from posting) and all their submissions are erased. Stops the Bag from drowning in worthless spam :)

I think there are daily non-stops to Nowhere Land.
by Brand Y on February 22nd, 2008
They don't even fly to London. The entire island is so small there's hardly anywhere else they CAN fly! How can an airport not link to the capital? *disgruntled sigh* I do wish they'd just shut the entire place down, it serves no purpose other than frustrating me and disturbing my sleep with the drones of planes that don't actually seem to be going or coming from anywhere.
by Carmella on February 22nd, 2008
Flights are cheaper to England than Scotland? Now you tell me! I recently flew from Philadelphia to Glasgow. Ay Caramba, was it expensive!
by Dr_Dredd on October 12th, 2008
When I'm booking a flight I usually check the price from a few airports. London Heathrow sometimes has absolute bargains to the US, well worth traveling down for. Other times Manchester and Birmingham are cheaper or the same price.
by Carmella on October 12th, 2008
Ah, well. Next time I cross the pond I will try that. :-)
