  • Engine noise is one of the most time consuming problems faced in car audio. First of all, search the web for procedures to take cause I'm not going to type it all in here. But to get you going, do this: -Check your ground on your amp(s) - you say it's good, I tell you it's not. DIY installers underestimate the importance of a good ground. It should be rock solid with no paint in between. -Move your signal wires away from any other wiring or electronic components. -Run a return ground from your amp(s) to your deck with primary wire -Use higher grade RCA cables. If yours cost $2.99 then your going to get $2.99 worth of sound. Get some from a good maufacturer like Tsunami, Monster Cable, Phoenix Gold, etc. Try these first. If it doesn't help, follow directions from a complete tutorial. It is also very helpful to learn to troubleshoot your system to identify where the problem is so you don't spend all of your time in the wrong area of your car.
  • I had the same problem with my stereo system. You should purchase a ground loop isolator. Look for it on the Web or in an electronics store that sells car audio equipment. It should help, but make sure you take the steps that were provided to you by the previous post.
