How high does the temperature and humidity have to be before you just NEED to run the air conditioner?

I grew up without an AC so I never feel I NEED to run it. However, it's really the humidity that does it to me, and I run it a good bit when it's humid and over, say, 80, because it's more comfortable.

For me, mid-80's or if the humidity is very high.
