I've never heard of this case, so I googled: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6958638.stm I don't see why he SHOULD be deported to Italy. It says he's a UK resident, and served his time in the UK. Why should the nation he was born in have anything to do with it?

It is an EU law not a UK one, but yes it is a complete joke! . On a side note, Learco was kicked out of my school becuase he had a fight with me, he then joined a school called Holloway Boys where he joined a gang called The Wu Sang Wu. The gang then went to the school in Maida Vale where he stabbed the head teacher to death. So, if it wasent for me he probably would not have been in the gang! Crazy things

No it is not. He lived in Italy until he was six. Does that really affect the person he has become, nasty though that may be? If he has been born in the UK, no-one would be talking deportation. Deportation is for people who have been brought up and acclimatized to another country, and come to ours to pillage. What Chindamo is, for better or (much) worse, is someone who grew up in Britain. We cannot shrug of our problems because as a mewling tot he lived elsewhere. He committed his crime when he was 15. He is now 27. In my opinion, the difference between 15 and 27, particularly with such a drastic change of environment, makes a different person. If the Parole Board, having access to the facts and to qualified psychiatric advice, say that he is not a risk to society, I think it is a damned cheek of us to say otherwise. And if he is not a risk to society, why not let him stay in the country where he culturally belongs.

It isn't only Britain..Canada laws are not any better..and OJ walked, as did Michael Jackson in the US.. Something has got to give in this area...In Vancouver we now have an East Indian man who came here on an illegal passport and then had a stroke and is immobilized..the East Indian community is harbouring him in a temple so that the law can't deport him.. He came here illegally--I mean I am sorry about his stroke but there are 1000's of immigrants trying to get here LEGALLY. What is wrong with this picture?

Yes, sadly it is a Joke, this Human Rights Act is a farce and totally loads the system in favour of the criminal. Ever since it came in we have had one case after another of this!
