That depends. If you married on a K-1 visa, it can be as short as 30-90 days. If you married under a tourist visa or in a foreign country, you must go through the K-3 visa procedure in your own country. This can take considerably longer as the process must start at the beginning. The time depends solely on processing times in that particular embassy/consulate. If you marry while illegally present in the US, you may find the situation much more dire. More and more people in that position are finding themselves refused legal status, even though they are married. That's because you may face a ban of years before you can even apply for status. That also, must go through the embassy/consulate in your own country. Good luck.
