  • Out of all of the current video gaming consoles available today, I have decided that I want to buy the Microsoft Xbox 360. I am wanting to know from the loyal Xbox players, what are the best qualities of the Microsoft Xbox 360 that make it the best console for you?
  • The good: Superior selection of games, including several console-exclusive titles; all games in high-definition; easy-to-use Dashboard interface; excellent online gaming and communications via Xbox Live; plays hundreds of (but not all) original Xbox titles; doubles as a superior digital media hub and Windows Media Center extender; online Marketplace allows for easy purchases of downloadable full-scale games, mini-games, movies, and TV shows; latest version offers HDMI output with 1080p support. The bad: Early versions of the console prone to "red ring of death" system crash; noisy exhaust fan and DVD drive; gigantic oversize power supply; no built-in wireless networking or flash media reader; DVD playback has substandard video quality; support for next-gen HD DVD movies requires a bulky external accessory; 20GB hard drive fills up very quickly; online gaming requires a paid subscription to Xbox Live. Knowing the pros and cons of the game system, is better than just hearing the good only about it. Source: http://reviews.cnet.com/consoles/microsoft-xbox-360-20gb/4505-10109_7-31355096.html
  • well certain games is bout it.the backwards compatability is a joke. The system is prone to lockups, has a jaggy, poor framerate due to a inferior GPU, OS updates tend to fail down the road, it runs so hot it raises my ambient air temps 15 degrees. Overheats constantly. xboxlive is slow, and rather flaky with when it works, the wireless controller is a joke, always having issues with connections, no HD/bluray player, highdef option doesnt provide a better picture, usb drives are painfully slow on it, no built in wireless function, headset is a joke. The system w/hdddvd drive(which the market is favoring bluray now)was 650 bucks. The ps3 so far has not locked up, doesnt drop framerates, OS updates actually work, it plays ps1, and ps2 games without a hitch, has built in bluray drive, crisper picture, runs hot, but not firebreathing hot, games are good, but needs work, has memory card readers, 4 usb ports, better audio system, faster, controller is much better also. Id def go with a ps3, or a wii, I blew 650 bucks on a x360 w/highdef drive, only to keep sending it to mcrosoft.
