  • Ok first off there could be a problem with several things, some of which could be: your motherboard, the laser in the CD-RW, the power going to your CD-RW drive, and possibly the software. You did not specify on whether or not it literally doesnt work "at all" so im going to assume the worst and address that since the solutions would most likely still apply and cover the lesser of the two situations. 1) If you have installed or updated ne of your audio/media software recently then this could be the issue, however it is unlikely that the software would actually conflict with a component of your computer that does not really deal with major memory transfer (eg ram, mobo (motherboard), etc) since it is only reading the info and sending it 2) if you have in ne way damaged or knocked around your computer it could have disaligned the laser in the CD-RW or may have messed with it internally in other ways that do not allow for it to function 3) if you have recently added new components to your comp, in ne way upgrade, like more ram, new graphics card, or something that would increase power consumption, then you may not have a power supply that can support your computer and thus would lead to parts not being able to fucnction 4) The connection of the CR-RW drive to your mobo may have be severed and thus resulting in an inability to transfer information If none of these are the case then im stumped Solutions (respectively): 1) uninstall your new software or check for updates on the company's website to see if they have released patches that will fix the problem or explain if there is a compatability issue 2)Buy a new CD-RW drive, or speak with someone at an electronics store or check the company's site to see if you can have the product replaced or fixed 3)if this is the case then buy a new and larger power supply or remove the new part and replace it w/ the old if there was an original piece that it replaced (if you must downgrade then check to see if you can find a piece that has the exact same or less voltage consumption so that you can keep a better part in your comp) 4)Check the connection and reconnect the wires if they disconneced or something
