Ok, this is an emergency situation! You need put your head between your knees and breathe deeply. Once the temptation dies down a little, pick up the phone and dial 1-800-NO-2-PARENTS. One of the counselors there will talk you through this difficult time. We all have weak moments in our lives. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Just take it one day at a time.

Because you've conditioned yourself to define good and bad in music by preset external standards, and when those standards differ from your actual musical tastes, you tend to feel "Dirty". Personally, I think that's just not a fulfilling way to live one's musical life. You like what you like, and the sooner you learn to accept that and follow your own tastes, the sooner you can broaden your horizons and become free to discover the best in music without being restricted by genre lines. Having said that... The Mamas & The Papas? Honestly? I must say, I'm shocked <Jaw Drops>, but ah well, good for you for opening your mind a bit (That's the downside of opening your mind, you never know what might find its way in there).
