Help answer this question below.
I was in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada.
I had just turned 18 in May, just got my 2nd Dan black belt & a teaching permit, and was still struggling to get my self defense and health science school started.
__________
... on a side note, back when I was a baby, my father worked as an air force fire fighter at the Canadian side of the same joint Canada/U.S. military base in Germany that Elvis drove tanks at ... Zwiebruken ... and, we lived off base, right across the street from the "Rose Gardens" ... and you can see our house over Elvis's shoulder while he sings "Wooden Heart" in the puppet scenes of the movie "Occupation G.I. Blues".
I was 5 years old, on the floor in our den playing dolls with my sister. My aunt called from holiday and told my father she was "coming home...Elvis died!!!". I remember everyone crying hysterically and I really thought he (Elvis) was part of our family or something.
A few years later, my father became an Elvis impersonator (I kid you not!!).
At my Grandma's house.
I wasn't alive. :D Skip to August of 1986 and you'll find me. :)
At my aunt's house.
I was 8 years old and in my aunts bedroom watching NBC when I heard the news. Didn't phase me one bit. All I just wanted was to get back to my program.

I have an alibi. You ain't pinning this one me!
I was about seven in the family room and I remember I was playing next to the huge old timey radio when my dad bolted in and announced that Elvis was dead.
I remembered his Christmas albums as well as a few other songs that we used to play on the radio player as well.
I was a teenager working at Steak and Ale in the kitchen. It was past closing and we were doing the cleanup when it news of Elvis's death came across the radio. All the guys cheered (elimination of competition, I reckon), and all the girls cried.
Prior to Elvis Presley, was "Elvis" a real name? Or did his parents just not know how to spell "Elvin??
