All stage magic is illusions. Some are very elaborate and the best ones are the hardest to "guess" or figure out. The way they work is a closely guarded secret because it is worth a lot of money. You can find out more about stage magic by typing "stage magic" or "magic tricks" into your search box. There are many sites that explain some of the more simple tricks, and also books that claim to reveal all. You can become a stage magician by joining a magicians organization and buying and practicing the illusions. My father was a stage magician, and I was his assistant. Our most memorable appearance was at the Magic Castle in Los Angeles.

I think he usually has one or two shills, everybody else is genuine and they see what you see them seeing. I think that the scenes that are filmed in front of the spectators are intercut with other scenes, so that the totality of what you see on TV is more than what happened in front of the spectators. Er no, I'm thinking of the other guy.
