Yes you can increase your chances of winning the jackpot!
The odds of hitting the jackpot are around 14,000,000 to 1.
Each ticket has a 1 in 14,000,000 chance of winning the jackpot.
Simply by buying 2 tickets increases your chances.
When buying 2 tickets (with different numbers) you have 2 chances in 14,000,000 = 2 in 14,000,000 which equates to a 1 in 7,000,000 therefore halving the odds.
Like wise if you were to buy 14 tickets you would have 14 chances in 14 million, which equates to a 1 in a million chance.
Still huge odds (you wouldn't back a horse at a million to 1 (would you??????))
None the less it does increase your overall odds of winning the jackpot.
Probably why so many syndicates do so well on the lotto, buying more tickets increases your chances of winning.

    Be lucky!!!!

Not strictly true in your answer but I think I know what you mean.

You can increase your odds by buying more tickets for example, however obviously when discussing jackpots them you are talking of odds of 1 in millions. But the odds of winning a prize is 1 in 49 so theoretically buying more tickets should get a return.

More importantly though I think you need to compare lottery odds to see about improving chances, for example the UK Lotteyr is a 1 in 14 million chance against the Mega Millions chance of 1 in 135 million. So playing UK versus mega reduces your odds and increases your chance of winning dramitically but still ridiculously high! It should also be noted that the UK Lottery pays out very large sums so increasing odds does not reduce payout in this respect.

I now play the UK lottery through www.aalotto.com who also provide a lot of good lottery info as well as being the best on prices and security I have found.

They also have combo numbers which provides all numbers you select in a combination, this is a good way to spread numbers, while not having a jackpot win I have had numerous small wins this way and for the last month have played twice a week for free, or I should say on my winnings.

Good luck to all lottery players.

may the force be with you

"Wheeling" sometimes only works in horseraces, not the lottery.

Its a house game invented to make you think you have a better chance of winning at the lottery.

On the lottery prospers from wheeling.

Wheeling allows the player to put more numbers into play in a system that guarantees a prize. The simple act of playing 9 numbers instead of 6 takes the odds from 1 in 13.9 million combinations to 1 in 166,474. If that's not an improvement . . . well sufice to say it is. The trade off is it takes 81 combinations to fully cover 9 numbers, but if a 5# win would make you happy a mere seven lines can guarantee a 5# win when 6 of the winning numbers fall among the 9 wheeled. Simply exchange your nine well chosen numbers for my place holder pointer numbers in the lines below.

    1 2 3 5 6 7
    1 2 4 5 7 8
    1 2 5 6 7 9
    1 3 4 7 8 9
    2 3 4 5 8 9
    2 3 4 6 8 9
    3 4 5 6 8 9

This is a very commonly held myth. (Not helped by the people who sell wheeling systems...)

Wheeling itself does not and cannot increase your chances of winning.

However. Your chances are usually increased because wheeling typically involves buying more tickets than you otherwise would.

So any increase in your chances is purely because you are buying more tickets. The same number of tickets picked in any other way give you exactly the same chance of winning.
