Help answer this question below.
I might loose 1000 points for this, but to wear furs from dead animals for the pure image of it is truly sick and distorted.
No it isn't. Although I don't wear fur, and I don't think fur should be worn for the sake of fashion, but calling it murder is getting things out of proportion.
Only human beings are murdered. By other human beings.
It is something I worry about, because much as I hate unecessary cruelty to animals the elevation of animals to near-human status is responsible for some horrific crimes by extreme animal rights groups who seem to value animal rights above human rights.
So you can argue that it's wrong - but it is definetly not murder.
(Logically one would have to argue that if fur is murder, then a snake who bites a human and kills them is also a murderer, and should be put on trial - which is clearly ridiculous.)
IMO, if they are raised for the purpose of becoming a coat, yes. If the coat were to be made from animals who have died natural deaths, then no. Of course we all know that those chichillas did not die of old age in a cozy habitat.
I don't understand the desire to wear fur. There is fake fur that looks the same, and frankly, I don't think fur coats look good. But that's just my opinion.
I think to broadly say that wearing fur is wrong is a mistake, because there are cultures where it has a great deal of significance (besides fashion). And I think if fur is murder, so is meat. But I think the wearing of fur is wasteful and unnecessary. I am not charmed by the idea of wearing a corpse. Yes, I know leather is the same thing, but it doesn't LOOK like the animal to me, so it doesn't disturb me the same way. I don't like dead animals to look like dead animals (which is the same reason that I won't eat food with the head on it).
No, not murder, put perhaps senseless and unnecessary.
With so many animal species threatened, really is it wise to keep using fur at such a rate?
I understand in the developing nations in tribal areas, this may still be necessary, and certainly fur has served mankind for thousands of years.
Perhaps, now we can move on to man made fabrics instead do to environmental challenges and a growing world population.
I've never had fur, so i couldnt tell you. I'll ask my cat later for you if she's around.
Yes.
YES!!!
YES!!!
YES!!!
Nobody would go around wearing the skins of dead babies, would they? It's the same thing. Poor lives lost for rich bitches!!! It's just wrong. x
Raising animals for the express intent to contribute to the vanity of some fool is murder pure and simple.
Fur isn't murder. Yes some furs are harvested inhumanely even in a torturous manner. But people need to wake up and grow up. Children in Africa are dying daily because they don't have clean drinking water, atrocities are commited daily to innocent lives as a result of war (that is murder)and there are children working in factories sewing shoes for 5 cents a day - these issues are INHUMANE.
Animals should definitely not be hurt or treated badly, but the reality is they are not humans and should not be elevated to human status. What is to stop a Cat from becoming the next President of the United States? its ridiculous!
Some climates are so cold people need to wear fur, others wear fur for spirtual reasons. And if you can afford to wear fur thats ur choice - wear it.
Otherwise why don't we just go around throwing paint at people in mcdonalds for eating a big mac? im sure many are aware that a cow is a sacred and worshipped animal in some religions?
all these models posing naked screaming for is murder for PETA should calm down and stop glamorizing this bullsh*t. they seem to have no problem walking down a catwalk in leather shoes or endorsing/modelling products sewn up my innocent children in a tiawanese factory somewhere where slave labor is standard practise.
if it's purely for fashion, then yes, of course it's murder.
No. Fur is a multi-functional grouping of hair that grows out of animals.
If fur is murder, so is meat. Humans use animals in many ways to provide for our needs, and clothing is just as necessary as nutrition. One could argue that there are other ways to clothe ourselves, but as is the case with meat, there are other, non-meat-eating ways to eat. So if fur is murder, so is meat, but meat is not murder, so neither is fur.
No it isn't.
It could be argued that leather and fur are in fact a more environmentally sound choice than wearing fake fur and leather. Fake fur and leather are petroleum based products that require a manufacturing process that use many resources that introduce toxic chemicals and other pollutants. These products do not last as long as natural products and end up in land fills where they may take hundreds of years to break down while natural products break down rather quickly in landfills.
So, which product is more environmentally friendly?
It's easy to look at some cute furry animal and shout, "Fur is murder" but it is much harder for some to see the long term picture.
Not unless it is really hot and the creature with fur overheats.
Fur is definitely murder. The animals are kept in poor conditions, and the methods in which they are killed are inhumane. If you don't believe it then watch this video:

What about wearing the skin i.e. leather? Are, for example, bikers who wear leather trousers equally sick and distorted?

Im Alec. I think when the purpose for killing an animal is only for its skin or fur,it is wrong.
