What’s in a McDonald’s hamburger? It is obviously a very closely guarded secrete, all you ever hear is “100% all beef “ which tells you nothing. For instance, is there any meat in it? Meat, as in actual skeletal muscle tissue, or is it 100% de-fatted fat tissue, cow lips, intestines, organs, anuses, vaginas, sinus tracts, flaked and formed gristle and tendons, limp nodes, cyst sacks, etc. If there is any actual skeletal muscle tissue, what is the actual parentage? 5%? 15%? No body knows if there is any muscle tissue at all in them, it’s a closely guarded secrete. I have yet to see any actual lab tests that detail exact parts at exact percentages. That being said, it’s not such a bad thing. In the old days when people lived off the land, people ate the whole animal not letting anything go to waste, even cracking the bones to suck the marrow out. By eating the eye balls and other parts they got valuable nutrition that we don’t get today by eating only the steaks and ignoring the rest. So eating a fast food burger once in a while may be a good thing nutrition wise. Although I would still like to know exactly what's in it, and in what proportions, but that’s like asking who killed Kennedy.

100% beef - Sounds good, but Beef means meat from a Cow, so a Cows ears, nose, tail, penis, testicles, eyeballs, skin etc. are all technically Beef! Something to remember next time you read a sign saying 100% Beef (or any other meat)

have you ever heard of Michael Pollan? you should read his books, they will open your eyes to this industry. the truth is, cows actually are fed fatty materials, to help them gain weight faster, that came from other cows. this is why diseases like Mad Cow became such a problem. also, cows are being fed corn because it is cheaper and we have a constant surplus of it and it helps them gain weight faster. a cow naturally eats grass, so this is NOT good at all. finally, cows are locked up in small places to save land and money. it is dirty and cramped and unhealthy. and that is just the cows. very similar things happen to chickens and pigs as well. so, regardless of exactly what part of the cow is in your burger, chances are it did not come from a happy cow. maybe next time you get a "happy meal," you'll think about all the suffering of innocent animals it took to get it on your plate.

When dairy cows are drained of every bit of milk and life that they can give, then they are slaughtered and finally eaten.

    From http://www.unhappycows.com/ :

California’s dairy cows are crammed into huge lots, where they live covered in mud and their own feces for most of their miserable lives. They are pumped full of drugs to keep them producing such unnatural amounts of milk that their udders often become swollen and infected—in fact, at any given time, roughly one-third of California’s cows suffer from painful udder infections, and more than half suffer from other painful infections and illnesses. They are forcefully impregnated every year to keep them producing milk, and their male babies often end up chained by their necks in veal crates before being slaughtered at just 16 weeks old.

More than a fourth of California’s dairy cows are slaughtered each year, generally because they’ve become crippled from painful foot infections or calcium depletion. At this point, they are trucked to the slaughterhouse through all weather extremes, many collapsing and arriving crippled. Slaughter is gruesome and often terrifying and painful. Said one former USDA slaughter inspector, “In the summertime, when it’s 90, 95 degrees, they’re transporting cattle from 1,200 to 1,500 miles away on a trailer, 40 to 45 head crammed in there, and some collapse from heat exhaustion. This past winter, we had minus-50-degree weather with the windchill. Can you imagine if you were in the back of a trailer that’s open, and the windchill factor is minus 50 degrees, and that trailer is going 50 to 60 miles an hour? The animals are urinating and defecating right in the trailers, and after a while, it’s going to freeze, and their hooves are right in it. If they go down—well, you can imagine lying in there for 10 hours on a trip.”

In Orwellian terms, this is what becomes a "Happy Meal".

According to McDonalds own press, "McDonald's hamburgers are made with 100% beef - no additives or fillers. Our burgers are seasoned only with salt and pepper."

"At McDonald's, we use only high quality beef and other raw ingredients. McDonald's hamburgers are made from the same cuts of meat that you would buy at your local supermarket."

50 percent beef and 50 percent fillers, which includes ammonia to kill the ecoli virus from the patty. Watch FOOD.INC. You will learn a lot about the fast food industry. Aside from it being the Walmart of fast food, it is disgusting, making America fat, lazy, and well, DEAD!

It's beef but they don't mention what parts of the cattle are in there. And just because it says 100% beef doesn't mean there aren't other things in there, only that it is 100% beef as opposed to parts of other animals. The 100% DOESN'T mean that all there is in it.

There are other things in there:
    Water, salt, soy
    Sugars: saccharose, dextrose
    Emulsifiers: E472e, E471, E481, E300, E516, E262, E210, E327

For one - the modern beef industry uses all of the cow for one purpose or another. Secondly - I do not think that McDonalds would risk using the penis, vagina or other such items that the customer would find disgusting enough to not purchase their products. Finally - I am lucky enough to live in a rural area and personally know the person that raised my beef and how it was treated and fed. I also know the facilities that slaughter and dress the animal. I wish all were that lucky but that would put the fast food joints looking for something else to do.

everytime i eat mcdonalds meat i go through the same thought process it seems...how could i be eating this AGAIN?...why does it seem like im eating some paper ?.....why are there so many chunks of gristle or whatever those transparent pieces of stuff is ?...why are there always "crunchies" in this burger ? im not eating this again!
and then i eat it again and again ! even after seeing Supersize Me i promised myself not to eat whatever that meat is again i still eat it. its crazy but i think they are brilliant at marketing because even its critics eat there. subliminal msgs in the advertising ? and as for the meat ????? there is definitely some connective tissues and/or byproducts in that meat id say. but its cheep and kind of tastes "good" i guess.....

"I recomend the book "Skinny Bitch"....This meat can come from ANYWHERE on the cow.... including penis "

McDonald's hamburgers are made from ground BEEF, which can be from a cow or a bull but which must be composed of purely muscle meat, as per USDA standards.

Vegan books such as this, on the other hand, are usually composed of pure bullSH*T.

There are many roomers going around about Mcdonalds burgers like they dont use beef and they use mealworms because there cheaper! Well beef prices are slowly rising and there is no way possible that the Mcdonalds burger can stay on the dollar menu with beef prices rising unless it is not beef!!

Its quite obvious they are going to use the cheaper cuts of cow or otherwise the burgers would not be so cheap! I think everyone should stop worrying, most of us like the taste of the burgers and don't get ill off of them so who cares whats in them?! I mean it's not a big deal and if you don't want to eat them because of whats in them then don't! Simple. Jeez people are lame.

I know a guy who used to work for a company that sold the "beef" to McDonalds. According to him, it was the organs, eyeballs, etc. The cheapest tissues they could get. Makes sense economically, doesn't hurt you nutritionally, and technically it is still 100% beef.

Which sucks, because I will NOT eat eyeball hamburgers! And I have been craving a Big Mac for weeks!
Need to remember to get sandwich spread at the grocery, so I can make my own. :/

Look up "pink slime" as it is known in the industry, also beef filler and see what it is made from, BPI packing product, 'dirt cheap'. It's in McDonalds, school lunch program burger, processed foods with burger in it, pizza 'meat' and many others. Washed in Ammonia to kill bacteria too. It is usually the cause of the recall when you hear "1.2 million pounds of hamburger recalled." What I wonder [scary thought] is where does that burger resurface in our food? You know they don't throw it away ! Horrible thought but you know it's there.

By the way did you ever look closely at a McDonalds burger, really closely at the particles on the edge, even the patty that come with the little pancakes for breakfast? It doesn't look anything like a burger when I cook one at home. It looks like a fried fat patty, totally fat. It may not be fat but it sure isn't meat. What do you suppose you are eating?

there are the ingredients to the food from mcdonalds and there are the ingredients for the ingredients. what is azodicarbonamide for example and why is one eating it ? forget about the name of the ingredient and what its purpose is and ask : what is it ??? where did it originate ? a hamburger is essentially meat, bread ,some vegetables and mayo ( muscle grain and vegg ) does a mickey d burger look like meat grain n veg ? no ....a mcdonalds hamburger is meat wheat and veggies thats gone thru a million alterations b4 it becomes the final product that u eat(a far cry from the 3 original components) personally i would rather put my 5 bucks towards some real food. its cheaper n better 4 u and you don't throw out garbage

Cows dont have penises that is the male organ of theire species so I guess you get cow vagina in youre hamburgers and not penis in them like ppl are suggesting -__- . And so what if they contain penis or vagina from the cow all other cheap meat does too i mean how would they otherwise be able to sell theire cheese burgers for 10 swedish kr its like 3 $ I think. every 1 kg of cow meet takes 15.000 liters of water to preduce and theire food are mostly from soy pellets wich come from the rainforest are wich is being cut down like 2 soccer fields per minit just for using as plantages, crattle grounds and mostly soy fields for companies like mac donalds. This makes me sick but not sick enough to turn down a cheap cheese burger once in a while. But they chould raise thire prizes like 1$ a meal for reacherse on a ecological and enviorment safe meat industry and then make up the lost profit by selling thire ideas and inventions to other big companys that want to look green . i know i went a bit off the subjekt and my eanglish typing is a bit rusty but please look at the content of the text not my bad english. True facts if you dont belive them just look them up.

When was the last time you went to a slaughterhouse? I suppose you have watched exactly what McD's uses in their burger? You are very misinformed about what the cows are fed, bovines (cows) are vegeterians and no they are not feed ground up chicken and cow. Please get your info straight before you post your ignorance again.
