  • the most comforting thing i ever heard from a non abused person WASN'T "I understand." but rather, "wow, i can't imagine what you went through, because i haven't been there. but i want you to know that i'm here for you, whatever you need. there are people in your life who love you and care for you." people who acted like they understood and really didn't, just frustrated and confused me more. it was confusing because, in my mind, i was thinking, "how can they understand? if they haven't been forced.... unless they're thinking of they're consentual sexual relations. and if thats it, then i don't ever want to have consentual sex. not if it will be like that!"
