  • That will cvary a great deal from person to person. Some people will learn the back handspring very quickly and will be doing it on their own within their forst few lessons. While it will take some gymnasts several years to learn to do the skill. On average it does take a few years. It can depend on Your age Your strength your flexibility your body your coach how often you train what your training is focused on and so on Usually an artistic gymnast will learn to do a back handspring in around level 3 to compete it in level 4 in the USA. In Australia and New zealand it is usually learned in level 4.
  • no i beg to difer for me it took about 6 classes so for me that was six weeks, no one I know took a year to learn it thats insane!
  • Back when I was that limber, it took me a few months. It really depends on the person and the amount of effort put forth to be honest.
  • I am currently learning how to do a back handspring( i can practically do it already!!)and it only took me a couple of times being spotted by my cheerleading coach,5 1 hour handspring classes(with other girls,i was not doing handsprings the whole time!) and some practicing on my own!It really does depend on the person though!
