  • Merv GRIFFIN was a wonderful host of a talk show at night many years ago. He had a kindly way of interviewing his guests. He also produced many fine game shows, he will be missed.
  • I remember Merv from the start; he was always such a nice person and funny. His talk show was my favorite. Guess another great one went to that big stage in the sky!!!
  • I remember him for all the game shows he was responsible for introducing such as Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. He will truly be missed.
  • Loved his talk show, a great guy.
  • I only know him by name and the shows/projects he's brought to the world. That's about it. Sad though that he's no longer here.
  • He did? awwwwwww, you know that man was a true genuis!!! He could look at money and it would grow!!! I watched his talk show when I was young, I remember that big smile, I think he had a gap in his front teeth. He will be missed!!!! He did alot of charity work in the background, not much of a boster! another reason to like him!!!
  • I was watching Merv Griffin with my mom, when it scrolled across the screen that Elvis died. So I always associate learning about Elvis with the MG show.
  • i just pray to god so that his soul rests in peace.
  • I always felt he was genuine-- and a very intelligent, caring guy.
  • He always had the best guests..hope someone puts together a retrospective showing all the great talent that came to his show. He was certainly a pleasant, likeable guy...never confrontational or threatening..the guests could relax and enjoy themselves because he wasn't the kind that would make a joke at someone else's expense. And, of course, he was the one that put his stamp on "I've Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts". Bye, Merv..you served us well. :)
  • The memories I have were when mom would come home from work and arrive just in time for the MG show. She loved that show. She said it was always a great addition to the end of the work day. Then of course DAD would come home.
  • I didn't know that. I'm always sad to hear that anyone has died. I remember he had a talk show my parents watched. I don't recall his political views or leanings. He had a kind face and I remember he smiled a lot. He gave me the impression he was friendly and enjoyed life.
  • I was very sad when I heard; he seemed like such a nice man. I remember watching the Merv Griffin Show when I was young...with Arthur Treacher as his co-host. The show was always funny and he was always so quick to laugh. My mom loved when he sang. :-)
  • No, but I have some lovely parting gifts for him, courtesy of our sponsors.
  • I remember watching his show when I was little. It was one of the first television shows I ever remember seeing. Merv was cool. RIP.
