I have a 1994 toyota 4runner and my rear window recently stopped rolling down, but will roll up? anyway I've replaced the relay and the switch in tailgate and up front I am lost and not sure what to try next any suggestions?

I would then suspect the motor. If the reverse gear in the motor is somehow compromised it will not engage. Do you hear any noises from the motor when you tell it to go down?

The back windows on 4runners from from 1995 back are notorious for having problems. I'm not sure about you specifically but in general what happens is the outside seal at the bottom of the window gets old and stiff and doesn't seal out the water anymore. Then water starts getting into the tailgate causing all sorts of rust and corrosion. This will then cause any variety of problems. I would take the rear window apart as much as you and lubricate everything. Also check to see if the seal is keeping water out. For you specifically it may be that one or both of the metal rails along the bottom of your window are gummed up.
