Cause carnage isn't taboo...it's fun.

Because we live in a bloodthirsty, yet, sexually up tight society.

I agree with you and nipples are much more natural.

Some things are acceptable to the powers that be, and some are not. Pressure groups, politicians, religious groups - all have their say, and the leaders and shakers in charge of what we see, hear and read balance their own interests against what they think they can get away with. We're pawns, nothing more. Freedom of expression only exists until someone else with money, power and influence decides to take it, or some of it, away. It's a pretty sick mind that sees nothing wrong with people being eaten being captured live on film but views nipples as liable to deprave and corrupt, but on balance there's a reason for this decision, and the reason is media fear and self-interest.

People might get AROUSED from a woman's nipple. How many people would get sexed up from a bloody calf? If they showed anything sexual on television, the porn industry would be demystified and no one would buy into it due to lack of curiosity.

Because they are supposed to be "private parts", so maybe they want to keep them that way. I know, it sounded stupid in my head, too.

It is actually more Americans that have an issue with the nudity and sexuality of television. For the most part, and correct me if I'm wrong, but Europeans show much more nudity that the United States, where there is less violence acceptable. Consider that the United States was founded on the mentality of the Protestant religion that hasn't entirely let go of our society. We (Americans) are deeply rooted in that mysterious, and wantingly rebellious part of our heritage and even though some people are trying to modernize the American society some foundations will never be cracked.
