San Diego, Monterey, Big Sur, Carmel By The Sea, Mount Shsata, Lake Tahoe.

I'm sure there are too many to list here, but here's a start: Los Angeles, where you have Hollywood, Disneyland, Universal Studios. There's the historic center, Placita Olvera. San Diego is a beautiful city with lots of beaches. There's also Old Town San Diego (with a famous haunted house). The Gas Lamp Quarter is a fun place with lots of restaurants and bars to go to. San Francisco is one of the most charming cities you'll ever go to. Fisherman's wharf is a popular place for both tourists and locals, where you can eat crab, or eat one of the famous clam chowder bread bowls... Delicious. San Jose has the Winchester Mystery House.... You have to see it! There are also volcano parks you can visit (yes, they are active volcanoes, but none have erupted since the early 1900's). Palm Springs is fun to visit. You can escape the heat and take the Aerial tramway up the mountain where it's nice and cool in the summer, and COLD in the winter (snow included). That's just a start, there's lots of good places to visit in California.

I'd say a drive down Highway 1, going from north to south would be a real treat. When you go south, you ae on the cliff side of the road and the views are awesome:-) And the mountains like the national parks, Sequoia/Kings and Yosemite with the waterfalls and redwoods shouldn't be missed. My favorite area is the east side of th4e Sierras along the 395. You can pass by Mt. Whitney and the White mountains on the other side with the oldest trees in the world. And lots of natural hot springs you can take a dip in.

San Fransisco, Yosemite, Mt. shasta, Death Vally, Santa Cruz, Mystery Spot, Lake Tahoe, and Santa Monica are the places I can think of at the moment.
