  • Smaller cars are more prone to get into accidents.

  • You will get crushed if you have an accident and hit a big car. (Like a SUV).
  • You can't fit as much stuff in and you are more likely to get crushed if you have a collision with another vehicle (chances are it will be bigger than you). I reckon there are more disadvantages to having a bigger one though.
  • The worst thing is not being able to sit comfortably on a long journey. You cannot carry as many people or move any stuff from place to place. On the Motorways in the UK the roads are so gridlocked that I feel as if trucks are going to roll right over me if I am in a small car.

Any red-blooded American will drive a vehicle with Lay-z-boy seats, no road feel (or lateral grip) , and such overbearing power steering as to eliminate all road feel, thus making you more likely to lose control in low traction conditions.... like the ones I face four months out of the year.
