Yeah. Points make it fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun.
-
Now that I've been on here as long as I have, I think that I would come back anyway. Though I must admit, the points are what kept me here for the first three months.
-
No. I was here before there were points. The points weren't why I started contributing. I don't understand why so many people get hung up on the points.
-
Yeah, it makes me feel like iv achieved something each time i gain a level
-
think I would stay

When I first joined, there weren't any points. Instead, answered were rated good or bad, and the more positive ratings you got, the higher your "grade" was, up to A+++. Obviously, bad ratings would cause you to drop to a lower grade, and so your ability to answer questions was based on average user satisfaction with your answers, rather than the number of questions you answered. Quality over quantity. Now, the quality of your answers don't matter, since if you answer lots you will still accumulate lots of points. If the points scheme was to be taken away, I'd still log in. I've made some friends on here, and I still enjoy answering some questions, as well as asking a few myself. Though to be honest there are now that many questions that I consider pointless, that I do sometimes take a few days of for a short break.
-
No, I'm here for the people - not the points.
-
No - it's not about the points to me, it's about the people.
-
You can have my points but I'll keep my friends and stay here until they ask me to leave. I would love for the point system to go by the wayside forever:)
-
No I don't worry to much about points. Then again I don't have that many points to worry about either.
-
No. It's about the people for me.
-
well no i mean points are fun to get but its not the whole reason why i come on here i have gained alot of knowledge from answerbag believe it or not and i plan to stay even if they take all the points away i dont care i like to comment and answer questions and talk to my friends and read other peoples answers and rate them and..... i just love AB and still would even without the points
-
No, but if there were no comments, i might be put off somewhat more.
-
Nope. I've actually developed feelings for some of these boneheads. It's like being at a big family reunion with people you've never met face-to-face.
-
No
-
points are actually what i care about the least. i would stop if there were no comments, those i like. so my answer is no.
-
No. It might cool some jets around here if the points were gone.
-
I think I'd be more likely to stay here longer because there would be so much less rubbish if there were no points.
-
No, it would still be interesting to me. We would have a lot less of the "What is life" or "What is it you hate..." questions.
-
No. I love Ab and all that it stands for. I would stay here for a long time even if there weren't points. I'm more bent on answering questions anyway.
-
As Ted Stevens said on the Daily show, No! I was here before points and answers were rated as Helpful, somewhat helpful, and not helpful, and users were given a letter grade.
-
I like all of it , and take breaks when needed - so I would still stay yes
-
nope
-
Nah. Points are pointless :)
-
I was here before points and I will be here after points.
-
I think as long as there is some way to let people rate questions as to their perceived value to the visitors, no. The points don't mean much outside the value of the answers rising to the top.
-
No cause I'm here to help and get help not for the points.
-
to hell with that, i'd probably come on more if they ditched the whole points gimmick.
-
No. I was an active user for a year and a half before AB used the points system, so I could adapt if they took the points away, sure.
-
Yes. Points are not the point for me.
-
Yes, when I came here I din't know anything about the points.
