Help answer this question below.
The late great John Candy
Derek Jeter.
I think the two best are Mel Gibson, and Charlie Sheen.
Christopher Reeve
george clooney.
Jessica Alba. She seems real and down to earth. She keeps her body in shape (in the healthy way by excersising and proper nutrition), and never gets involved in alcohol and drug abuse issues like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. Jessica is just a normal pretty girl with an amazing body and lots of talent, so i think she is a good role model for every young girl. Charlize Theron is alo quite a good role model.
Until I saw WebleyQuenton's answer, I would have said if one seems good, wait awhile until the news comes out. But the ones he lists seem solid
I'm not choosing one, hope that is OK. For a wide variety of reasons:
Paul Newman
Joanne Woodward
Shirley Temple Black
Betty White
Rafer Johnson
Michael Stipe
Enya
Lily Tomlin
Shari Lewis
Red Skelton
Morgan Freeman
and perhaps even stranger, the following people for creating my favorite two fictional characters. The two fictional characters who most inspire me in my non-fictional life :
"All in the Family" writers/Jean Stapleton for bringing " Edith Bunker " to life
and
Harper Lee/Gregory Peck for bringing " Atticus Finch " to life.
saint charlie aka "charlie sheen" he's like budha in so many ways.............and mother paris...she's such a generous person she even shared her body with the world...and people call it a sex tape NO she was just being nice and generous to the poor people who can't pay for porn....and everyone who gets close to her becomes a good person like britney and lindsay...and millions of teen girls who dream to be like her someday
Kate Beckinsale
She's one of the few true classy celebrities !

Lindsay Lohan, Snookie & Kim Kardashian. They r my girlz! I l00k up 2 them so much!
I think Miley Cyrus is a good role model for young people. She does not smoke, drink, or do drugs as far as I know.
Her father keeps her "down to earth." I have heard she is a nice person as well. In my opinion, she has not let success "go to her head."
+5
selena gomez and demi lovato r the 2 teen role models dont let your kids pick miley cyrus becasue she is dating a 22 yrs old guy n that is bad influience on them
Bill Kaulitz he so awesome to everyone in his concert he lets the fans practice the song then sing it together soo cute!! <3
Kurt Cobain maybe...ok everybody has troubles and we all deal with them in different way.
kurt was from a broken home, he was abused in so many ways, he was homeless for some time too yet he managed to create his talents and become a spokesman for a generation. nearly 15 years after his death and he is still one of the most popular musicians among todays youth. Why??? because he wasn't anything special...he was just like us...he had problems and he dealt with it. if he wasn't a good role model he would of been a very good mate. the one you could turn to with anything.
I really like the way "Christina Aguliera" has handled her personal life ever since she has gotten married and had her kid. Unlike "Britney Spears," she didn't parade her personal life all over reality shows and constantly put her business out in the street for everybody to know. She has kept her marriage and private life as just that, PRIVATE. As much as everyone tried to compare them over the years and talk about their little "rivalry," it seems like Christina Aguliera has had the last laugh with the way Britney Spears' life has gone lately. Not to mention her sister! Talk about sex education!
i dunno about celebritys :/
It depends on what part of their personality you concentrate as a role model to follow. We're all humans of course, so we are bound to have flaws.
For me a good all-around role model would have to have a person that has excelled in the field of their choice and have a history of "practicing what they preach", integrity and generosity.
Not to get too technical here but here's a small sample list of people whose personal life may not be above reproach, but at least have done something to raise money and awareness on meaningful causes:

I don't understand why people look to celebrities or sports figures as role models. But of the celebrities that I respect, I'd go with Donald Sutherland, Susan Sarandon, Micheal Caine for starters.
Jeremy Kyle. LOL. xD
I always admired Sting Of The Police the guy can play mean guitar!
James Bond... :-)
Elvis Aaron Presley (1935-1977) he got made fun of by millions of people by the way he sang (rock and roll and much much more) and danced. but he did over 189 concerts in his lifetime and fullfilled his lifetime dream he had a wife (divorced) and a beautiful daughter. not to mention they had to have crowd control and over 59 policemen at his funeral. also he had the dream now just in 1945-1949 people teased him but 1950-to the end of time people praised his music, he fulfilled his dream he said these to a lot of people:" Im afraid to wake up each mornin, i cant believe this all happened to me,i just hope it lasts." "I want to entertain people thats my whole life-to my last breath." his last words the day before he died "I loved everyone in the world-no matter if they hated me or loved me i believe god made us to love not hate our world." august 15th somewhere around 9:15 he died in his bathroom while combing his hair and fell down "unconcious" or the world may call it dead. In Memory Of Elvis January 9th 1935-August 16 1977 the world is still weeping for his death.
Taylor Swift and Tyra Banks
Tyra teaches women and girls that everyone is beautiful you just got to find your inner godess
Taylor is just so damn cute nuff said!
