Probably not. I think most people are more open to alternatives now but I suspect they will always be in the running.

Edited to correct typos. I hope it's the end of electing someone BECAUSE he is a white male, and that we can usher in an era of electing the best candidate without regard to superficial qualities. Will white males be elected in the future? Sure, but not because they are white males.
