If you're in the US, you can buy an AK-47 for roughly $6,000 or more, not counting the $200 transfer tax. AK-47s are fully automatic weapons and are considered Class III weapons. Class III weapons are logged into the National Firearms Registry and are not allowed to be made and/or imported for non-military and non-law enforcement use since 1984. Semi-auto only copies of the AK-47 are sold under other names and cost at least $300 and up, depending on quality and magazine capacity.
