I used to donate on a regular basis and my employees were given a bonus for participation in a blood donor program. Due to medical reasons I can no longer donate but the folks at the office are still going strong. :)

I am not aloud to donate blood anymore due to medical reasons but when I was able to I did! I think people who can do it, should.

I used to donate blood and wish i could have continued but due to an illness I had, I am no longer a good donor.

I am in the army so like most soldiers we donated alot. NOw that i am in korea i can't donate blood for a while

I haven't yet, but everytime I hear or see they are going to be setting up, I plan to go. I seem to forget each time. I will be in trouble If I ever need blood and the rest of the world has a memory like I do. I feel guilty for missing it, I need to make a huge note about it and hang it around my neck.

I have donated blood a couple of times but I felt so bad afterwards that I haven't donated again. I suppose I should try again tho.

The blood bank does not allow me to donate, but I do volunteer my help in getting donors, and I wear the T-shirt to help advertise.

No because I am kind of afraid of needles. Here is two points for you.

They won't take my blood, so I donate my time instead. I am considering creating an Answerbag Blood Bank Account for the users here to donate. Until I get it set up, I urge everyone to go to their local Red Cross or Blood Bank and give.

There are companies out there that actually look for people who have health issues to donate plasma. They work with plasma centers accross the us. Check out their site www.accessclinical.com, the compensation is good as well.

I used to do so about once a year. I can't anymore, or at least for a few more years. I no longer meet the criteria for various reasons.

I try to donate blood as often as I can, but sometimes I'm turned away because of low iron. I've also donated bone marrow, which is an incredible experience.

I tried to donate blood once after a disaster and they had a sign up that said "we cannot accept anymore blood today. check back next week". so I said "screw it". I tried donating plasma (and desperately need the money for it) but due to my veins I don't qualify to do that. sure wish I could

I have donated blood for years, when I moved to St. George, Ut. I started donating plasma. I started donating in March 2008, and donated twice a week for 4 months, then had to take a 2 week off, then started again. The last time was Oct. I had to wait becasuse I got a cortazone shot. Then when I was able to donate again, my wife got sick, she is undergoing chemotheripy for acute leukemia in Salt Lake City, therfore I haven't been able to donate. I am looking for a Plasma center in SLC, but haven't had time. My wife has recieved about 8 units a blood this week, and we are very thankfull for all of you that have donated.

I have, but my veins are so bad that the blood bank told me not to come back, I was wasting their time. I have tiny little veins that roll when the needle hits them and shut down if you actually manage to get in them. Once every phlebotomist in the place had a go at me. I looked like a pincushion. That was when they told me not to come back.

yes, and on the bone marrow donation list, if you donate blood they just take a sample there and then, really easy . never know you could save a life one day. I havent managed to give blood last two times iron level tooo low :(. but working on that :)

I was rejected because I weigh less than 130.
