  • Ask the waiter or waitress what they recommend.
  • if my boss is taking me to dinner, that means my company is paying. I am ordering the most expensive item, something my boss would support and probably do as well!
  • Do Not pretend you know something you don't. A statement that "I don't read this language, can you help me?" is the best response. You can either say it to the boss, or the server.
  • I would tend to go the steak or burger route.
  • Ask the Waitress/Waiter what could be made with no animal products, and order that.
  • If my boss knows me well enough to invite me to dinner, I would hope she/he would know me well enough to appreciate the fact that i will ask for help when ordering from a menu i don't understand. If I took my employees to a very expensive restaurant I would hate to pay for food they didn't enjoy. :)
  • I would say I did not understand the menu and ask the waiter to explain the dishes, then I would choose what sounded good. There is no harm in being honest if you do not know something, a person looks much more stupid pretending to know.
  • I assume my boss knows the place well. So I would say something like, "what's their specialty here?" or "you can choose something for me, whatever you recommend I'll take it, I trust your taste =)".
  • None of the above...I got put into this spot once. And my boss's was planing on getting a laugh out of it. Well as they came and asked us for our order's. I said nothing but pointed to my boss's for them to go first. After they done so & now it was my turn. I looked at the waiter & gave sign language, like I was unable to speak. I was lucky that the waiter did not know sign language. For I had no idea what I may of said. Now that the waiter stated that they were sorry but did not know how to read sign language. I just turned the menu to them and pointed out a item on one of the photo's in the menu. They took the order and that was that. My boss's asked me how long I had known sign language. I told them I never did know it, but I sure was not going to let them get the last laugh at me....They never tryed that one on me again...M.C.S.
  • I would probably chose C. I have never been to that fancy of a restaurant. I am so deprived. <languishes in self pity>
  • I would excuse myself to go to the restroom and grab a menu and ask another person what the hell this crap is and then choose before i get back to the table after a quick lesson on how to pronounce the meal.
  • I would choose B. I'd like to be honest with my boss, and I want to know what I am eating.
  • I'm going t be tame and say ask for help understanding the menu. After all the last thing I want is snails, tounge, liver, or squid on my plate. Gross.
  • If this were his/her choice for the restaurant, I would ask what he/she recommends and order that.
  • It isn't a secret I am a simple kind of girl, So I would be straight up and say ... uh someone wanna help me out? I can't even read this or pronounce it, where can I find the bacon and eggs?
  • If its a restaurant that your not familiar with you honestly should ask what the waiter/waitress would recommend...or if the restaurant is known for any house specialities. If not, then I should suggest "HOOKED ON PHONICS..." because its really your own damn, fault for not being able to read in the first place! Hee!
