Sounds like what most uni lecturers and tutors i know of, wear. Whether it is appropriate attire or no, i do not know. I am sure that closed toe shoes would be safer, though.

I think it would be needed to check the Uni's dress code/contract if you have one.I know some of my teacher's wore jeans and T Shirts-the flip flops would not be so acceptable I think.This is in the UK.

I'm sure that each school has its own set of guidelines about dress code. However, I think that educators are professionals and should dress accordingly, whether they are allowed to wear casual clothes or not. Many people don't take teachers seriously, or act like we teach because we can't get a job that "makes real money" (which is stupid). If we want to be treated as professionals worthy of respect, I think we should dress like it.

I think it's okay. My Transport and Society lecturer gets away with that.
