  • Because us men need to know what the sanitary products look like when we get the honey-do list. (tap tap tap Umm, price check on the X-tra large Kotex please)
  • It is all about money. Advertising their product to make you want to buy theirs and not another company's product. Some offer different protection and comfort and they want to put that out there for us to see and hope we will buy it. If they have improved a product.. they advertise to let us know to try it out. Sanitary products are a part of life. Period. I would be more offended by the commercial for the pregnancy test kit where they say "it is the best stick you will ever pee on" .. now that was raunchy. A woman having her period is nothing to be ashamed of anymore than jock itch cream being advertised. Life is life
  • They are aired BECAUSE they wan't you to buy some.
  • Sometimes they come out with new products, and they would like thew world to know about them! Plastic, paper, environmentally friendly, rounded applicators... Pad with wings, leak guards, extra absorbent, super long, etc.
  • Because people have a right to advertise thier products. Have you ever thought of single dad's who raise girls and don't quite know what to tell them about these products but are willing to buy them?
  • Because the different companies are competing for our money so they're trying to show us that their product is the best.
  • I entirely agree with you MM. I see no reason for almost every other advertisement to be for womens protective aids or sanitary protection. They are to use a nasty pun, saturating the Advertising market.
  • Yes but we also all know what a toothbrush looks like but different companies still insist on making us watch adverts about them.
  • just because they do.
  • If there was a total monopoly, with only one possible product, then advertising would be unneeded ... but with all the competition and all the new minor differences, the various companies feel a need to inform their prospects about how THEIR product is better, or how it has just been improved. ... but as a man, they turn me off just enough to reach for the remote ... I click away from the channel, since the ad is not aimed at me, and I click back in time to catch the program resume as the ads end.
  • I always figured it was so that, when a girl is watching tv with her dad, they can both be uncomfortable at the same time. It used to bug me, but now it's mostly just funny to watch my pops avert his eyes and try not to turn pink.
  • Advertising pays for television to be on the air. Those tampons could be paying for your favorite program!!
  • These commercials drive my husband crazy. Especially if one is on during football. You can actually hear him growling across the room. I especially like the one where the girl contains the leaking water tower with a pad.
