Do you get disappointed when you're not in the top ten, twenty, etc, on AB? Why or why not?

No, I haven't been here long enough. Besides I'm happy for my other AB friends who've made it to the top. I know in time if its meant to be it will be but for now a big WOO WOO, WTG to the ABers that are there.

no ive been a member of AB for ages and i dont think ive ever been in the top 50 never mind top twenty. who cares as long as everyones having fun :0)

I check on it occasionally, but I'm never in the "top twenty" and I'm okay with that. I'm also rarely in people's favorites lists (shouts out to Meow Meow, who listed me that once!). I don't really think of AB as a popularity contest.

I have been in the top ten, I understand what effort it takes to get there.. if I had the time id be here alot more, but no it doesnt affect me, cause I know how much I put in...

I've never been anywhere close. This is the first week I was ranked at all, and I was pleased. Not because I'm a points-mongering psychopath, but because it makes me happy to know that people think well of my input. ...I'm not sure where the "points-mongering psychopath" thing came from. Maybe when summer's over I'll be less hyperbolic. But that's unlikely.

No, that is not why I'm here. I have never been close to being top anything, never been on anyone's "list", never been congratulated for moving up in the levels...etc. That's perfectly okay, as I said, that's not why I'm here, if I were worried about such things, being here would no longer be enjoyable. I am content to be in the background. No pressure, no living up to expectations, no disappointments. ;-)

The closest I have ever got is thirty-two, but it still doesn't bother me. I know that the only reason I am stuck around rank sixty is because I am physically incapable of putting in more AB hours. Believe it or not, AB is not even on the top ten of my most frequently visited websites, and I spend almost all day on the internet.

Nah, I don't ever check. I don't mind it that much, I just prefer answering, asking and commenting. I don't care about points or ranking.

If I was in the top 20 it would mean that I would need to get a life, get some sleep, find a job. Dedicating that much time and effort would mean I had too much free time on my hands.

yes I was disappointed last week I was on here hours and hours last week and I assume I won't ever again be able to spend that amount of time again so I missed it by that much, shucks!

No. I work a lot of hours during the week so my time on here is limited. I don't have expectations to ever be in the top 10 or 20.

Here's an honest and truthful (if unpalatable) response: My real life is much too important, and much too full, for me to spend the sort of time here that would be necessary for me to be "competitive" as an Answerbagger. If you do spend that kind of time here, consider the amount of time you aren't investing in the real people around you -- family and friends within arms reach. Allot yourself limited time here to make quality contributions -- long thoughtful answers, or original, witty zingers -- then turn off the computer. No, I am not into the numbers thing. One thing I have learned being in leadership is that it isn't all about being a leader it is encouraging others to excell and be all that they can be, and to get people to perform at their peak potential.
