  • My god, its our turn. We white women are being discriminated against. Its not fair, woe is us, it's not fair. A Miss White America would not be allowed... we are victims (How am I doing)
  • well the pageant was started when we had a very low if no chance of winning. it's rather antiquated now and a joke so nothing to get all upset about seriously. I was in the Miss America system and preferred it to the mess that is Miss Black America. The whole thing has been a joke since the late 80's. The promised one girl scholarship money she has never received. They charge contests money and cheat ppl out their crown and money. Seriously it isn't that deep.
  • I believe white women are not in the Black American demographic. I'm sorry you had to hear it from me.
  • What's wrong is there is no requirement for Miss America that says she must be white. It doesnt' say that in the name, it just says America, including everyone. But Black America is restrictive and keeps other colors out.
  • I don't see anything wrong with it. Minority groups can separate themselves all they want without consequence. Just don't think about keeping minorities out of any "mainstream" events. That separation would be wrong. I taught high school at a school that had about 1100 students. There were about 4 more african-american kids than white kids. So, the balance was dead even in populations. What I found was the school preached diversity everyday and the kids did everything to include everyone when it came to school events and enrollment in clubs and such. BUT when you looked at the lunchroom tables, the populations segregated themselves. Of the 20-something tables at lunch, only three were "integrated" and that was just white kids at one end of the table and A-A kids at the other. I don't buy diversity. I am not a bigot or racist, but I don't get diversity, we all tend to congregate with those like us.
  • Miss black America? Is that an actual real thing? It sounds pretty racist.
  • what the hell?? black people have been discriminated for YEARS and we still are discrimated agianst otherwise there would be no reason for affirmative action. But thats just it ...we still need it. So if black people want to have something of there own. Something they can only relate to, so be it. After years of being in opression and still the majority of black ppl still feeling oppressed i think black people, if they want can segregate themselves agianst the people who kept them in bondage for so many years...its not rasicm its making de facto segregation. It might not look fair but its well deserved.
