People who do that are jealous.

Social status, intelligence, attractiveness etc are all qualities that many people are insecure about. If they feel they are inferior in these areas at all (of course, due to their own insecurities) then they will start judging. What I find amusing (or, not so, if your on the receiving end of it) is the way some women criticize other women continuously to their husbands as if they have to convince them that they are better than the pretty girl down the street, or the one who has just finished at Harvard. I hope that's not happening to you. If it is, remember, it's not you, its them!:)

Human nature. Life moves swiftly..we make snap decisions..do we want to spend time with this person or not? So you develop "preferences"..you make "choices". Whether you call it "judging" or something else, some people attract you and some don't. Why that is depends on who you are and what makes you comfortable. You can't tell me who I should spend time with, nor would I tell you that. We each decide! Happy Saturday! :)

Because when people are judging you they are also judging themselves, and by projecting it on to others they don't have to face their own misgivings. Really their frightened to judge themselves.. It is a horrible quality unless you try and judge possitivly.

Most religion is about ego. That is, it is a sort of complex band-aid that can be laid on top of an individual's unresolved guilt and pain and self-doubt and self-condemnation... a way of trying to make whole what is perceived to be a broken self: a broken ego. Unfortunately (not always) but many times this is a very superficial kind of healing... it doesn't really penetrate to the heart of the wound, it just numbs the surface so that some of the discomfort and anxiety goes away. That gives one a false sense of spiritual accomplishment -- a cheap high, if you will -- onto which is poured the self-righteousness of preachers and communities of like-minded self-appointed judges. Numbed by the topical anesthetic, emboldened by the ranks of supportive bleating from the flock, and forged into an "army" by pulpit-pounding power-hungry "leaders", the faithful pour out of the doors in their chiffon dresses and silk ties to go forth and save the world... by accusing everyone else of suffering from the wounds they falsely believe they have healed. It's the monotonous drone of critical thinking being drained out one sermon at a time.
