Vulgarity as a sign of Tourette's Syndrome is actually quite rare. It is the first thing that comes to mind when hearing "Tourette's Syndrome" for 2 reasons 1. The media likes to portray all TS people as having uncontrollable obsenity 2. It is the most memorable/noticeable sign of the illness. Last I checked (I, myself, have Tourette's), in order to be diagnosed with TS, rather than just "Nervous Tics", you need to have at least 2 verbal tics and 2 motor tics. Verbal is not limited to obscene outbursts. They can include (do not take this as a self-diagnosis) grunting, screaming, mimicing speach patterns (repeating what others say, being severely prone to picking up accents), coughing (also a motor tic), etc... In terms of "what would they say in their outbursts?"... Anything, really.

First thing that comes to mind, I guess.

The use of obscenities is only one symptom of Tourette's syndrom. As it is also the most interesting symptom, we hear about more in the media. People with Tourette's have been known t make odd twitches or seemingly random noises. There was a documentary I saw a while ago about people who did in fact spout random obscenities. One man said that he could refrain from blurting things out but it was like trying to hold ones breath. You can do it for a short time but the longer you hold it the harder it gets to hold it in and more more you spout out when you do release.
