i used to see them regulary when i was visiting my mum in hospital. my dad never picked them up though. i remember once me and my dad went to france and on the way back there was a man asking us for a lift back to england and my dad wouldnt give him a lift. anyway i was only about 11 and i was saying to my dad that he should give him a lift. i now understand why he didnt. he could of had anything in his bag drugs etc and we would have all been in trouble.

I saw one just this morning. NO. I would never stop for one.

Believe it or not, I have NEVER seen a hitchhiker. That does not mean that they haven't been by me, but if they were it was on car rides where I had the pleasure to be sleeping.

About two years ago. I used to stop all the time and I hitchhiked myself in the early and mid-sixties. Unfortunately, in a changed world, I don't stop anymore.

Yes, picked up a girl hitchhiker outside a bar late in the evening. I asked her where she was going and she said my place. (this was late 1980's). What follows cannot be written due to the age of some of the AB'ers, but suffice to say that impromptu unprotected activites occurred. Stuff I would never do today.

I havent seen a hitch-hiker for a few months now, I used to pick up hitchers all the time (if they didn t look like a crazy person and looked sober) and when I was yound I used to hitch hike all the time. I always had an ond car and broke down alot, or ran out of gas, (people always seemed to stop or help me or give me a lift so I always tryed to do the same) recently you don t see many and it seems people have gotten crazier and you don t feel safe. hitching or picking up.

about a month ago. No I have never stopped for one, most of them just looked a bit 'rough', and I've felt sorry for a few of them, but never enough to put my or my family's lives at risk. Besides, I tell my kids never to talk to strangers, and then I give one a ride? That would be a bit hard to explain. I did witness an accident in the winter and stopped to help and let the person sit in my car to warm up while help came to tow him out of the ditch.
