If it looks too good to be true, it isn't.

Although many many of them are scams, there ARE a few companies that are legit where you can win money/prizes. Now some of them may only be like $5-$10 lol, but last year I did an online survey with a company called Maritz Research in Canada. The incentive was being entered in a draw for an ipod and a docking station for it. A few days before Christmas last year they called me because I had won. They gave me the option of either sending me a Future Shop gift certificate for the ipod (for the price the prize was specified for) or if I preferred, they could send me a cheque (I already had an ipod). It was for $660! I'm really telling the truth with this. They sent me the cheque, simple as that, because I was the winner in a draw from an online survey. Here is a site of some legit companies http://www.surveybounty.com/free_surveys/verified.html

No. If you have to complete offers, it isn't free. The only one I've ever encountered is A.C. Neilsen's Homescan Shopper's Panel, but that's not limited to online surveys. That includes a handheld scanner with which you scan all of your purchases and, once a week, send that information in via an acoustic modem on the back of the scanner unit. For this, you get gift points that can be redeemed for various items. However, they're rather selective about who they accept, and there's a rather long waiting list. (And I'm NOT giving up my spot.)

There are some legitimate surveys, like Nielsons (television), or from stores that you've purchased from. But most surveys exist only to collect email addresses so they can send you spam.

It's a trap, even if you do complete some of the offers...it's an online version of the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes...
