Do you know if it is going to be a boy or a girl? For my shower the person who hosted it decorated it with balloons. They were different colors. The cake was chocolate and white with blue frosting. The words on the cake said "It's a boy." There were little decorations. Mini bracelets (blue), mini baby bottles, tiny plastic diaper pins.

What I always do is a banner welcoming the new addition, and some balloons in pastel colors. As for table decorations, I purchase some small things, sometimes even at the dollar store -- teething rings, bigs, bottles, pacifiers, bottle brushes, etc, and put them on the tables instead of center pieces or table decor. Then, after the shower, let the mom-to-be know that the table decorations are hers, as well.
