For one Native Americans received land and money because their land and money was taken away from them. African Americans achieved rights because of slavery meaning they have no rights and still today blacks have not achieved full citizen status. Asian received full citizenship and many opportunities such as ability to go to college, Asians unlike blacks do not have to show ID to prove who they are everyday of the week. I do not recall Asian women (tell me if I am wrong) being used as guinea pigs for sterilization studies like black women were. Yes, Native Americans received land but it was the worst land you could possibly acquire and the money was not enough in number to survive. All because one tribe makes a lot of money off a casino does not mean all tribes are.
What I am trying to say is we have all been f***ed and we are continuing to be despite receiving what little rewards they did receive. Giving Asians an award is not going to do anything to stop people's treatment of them.

My great grand parents were forced to leave Prussia as WWI was building up. I'm still waiting for my check from Germany. People need to let go of the victim mentality at some point.

My people were slaughtered in the Holocaust... I demand reparations even though I was not killed by the Nazis and Nazi Germany is long gone! I think that the Nazi's descendants who never did one bad thing to me should pay me compensation as should Germany, a country which has actually outlawed the utterance of "Seig Heil".
Did that sound at all silly or even stupid?
If it did, it should... it was silly.
Every culture has been harmed, enslaved, etc. at one time or another.
This reparations thing is silly.
Why not, instead, ask for equal treatment of all, including Native Americans, Blacks, Whites, Asians, and, yes, Gypsies? Oh and every other ethnicity.

First Nations and African-Americans we're forcibly disassociated (in a large part) from their nation states and ethic ancestries, leaving them only these big, constructed ethnic brackets that you've used. 'Asians' - people from East Asia - while exploited, managed to keep their ethnic identities. Japanese women and men managed to retain their Japanese heritage, Korean and Chinese immigrants have managed to do the same, etc. East Asian immigrants as a whole can't be compensated, as only a few living in America today are descendants of the exploited - unlike First Nations and African-Americans, who you can pretty much guarantee all descend from exploited peoples, and thus can be reasonably compensated.

You're reading Native Americians recieved land and $ because they got scammed. African Americans achieved their rights because of the slavery. Asians helped build the pacific railroads; they got scammed and many deaths occured. What do they get for their losts?
