That is the actual chick embryo. The yoke is just food for it to develop since it is not connected to the mother. You could say its an umbilical cord. Makes you want eggs right now huh?

The 'white' of the egg is actually called the 'albumen' an it provideds the nutrients for the developing bird.

The white thing is the Umbilical Cord, conveying nutrients from the Yoke to the developing embryo. Albumen, is a primary protein in the white of the egg.

Heehee. I heard it was sperm, but what would a chicken sperm be like a million times bigger than a humans? Thank you Kal-el, but I did find out what it is.
