Nope, the presence of a chef and staff members with a cultural connection is very important to define authenticity.

We used to have a Japanese restaurant in town. The family Watanabe owned it, and they worked all over the operation. However, the back of the house was all Mexican workers, and the secondary teppan guy was also Mexican. They always did a good job, IMHO. 3/19/24
